You're a Winner

From Today’s One Year Bible Reading Plan at BibleInAYearOnline.com

But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. - 1 Corinthians 15:57 (NLT)

There is nothing quite like the feeling of watching someone you love do something brave. I still remember sitting in the bleachers at my daughter’s first volleyball game. It was her very first time playing, and I could not help but cheer every time she made a move. I was that loud parent, the one who could not stay quiet because I was just so proud. My youngest even leaned over and whispered, “Dad, you’re too loud.” But I could not help myself. I wanted her to win. I was with her all the way.

That moment reminded me of something powerful. If I, as an imperfect earthly father, feel that much joy and excitement cheering for my daughter, how much more does our Heavenly Father cheer for us? He is not distant or uninterested. He is fully present, completely invested, and always for us.

Some days it might not feel like it. Life gets hard. We make mistakes. We face setbacks. But none of those things disqualify us from victory. God already declared us winners through Jesus. He sent His Son so that we would not just survive but thrive, so we could walk in the freedom and fullness of His victory.

Scripture is filled with reminders that we are more than conquerors, that we are never alone in the fight, and that we are surrounded by a heavenly crowd cheering us on. Hebrews 12 paints the picture of a race and reminds us to keep running with endurance because God has set the path before us.

So today, tune out the lies that say you are not enough. Silence the voices that say you will never make it. Hear the truth from Heaven that says, “You are a winner.”

Reflection Question: What challenge are you facing today that you need to view through the lens of God’s victory?

Prayer: Father, thank You for declaring victory over my life through Jesus. Thank You for cheering me on when I feel weak or unsure. Help me to run with endurance and to trust that You are always with me. I believe Your truth over every lie. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
