When It All Comes Out
From Today’s One Year Bible Reading Plan at BibleInAYearOnline.com
In the same way, the good deeds of some people are obvious. And the good deeds done in secret will someday come to light. - 1 Timothy 5:25 (NLT)
When we hear the phrase “it will all come out,” our minds often jump to the negative. We brace ourselves, wondering if something from the past is about to surface. But Paul offers a refreshing and hope-filled reminder here. Not all that comes out is bad. Some of it is the quiet, faithful good you have been sowing behind the scenes.
I recently lost two men who had deeply impacted my life. They never met each other, but both left a lasting mark. The first was my friend Bruce, who I met in Marine Corps boot camp. We called each other by our last names back then, but later I came to know him as Bruce, a man of kindness and integrity. His life was filled with small, unseen acts of friendship. After his passing, I noticed how many people referred to him as their best friend. That is the kind of person he was. Quietly consistent. Genuinely caring. His goodness could not stay hidden.
The second was Pastor Greg Kennedy. Years ago, when I felt disqualified and ready to walk away from ministry, Pastor Greg saw something in me and refused to let me give up. He spoke life over me when I was at my lowest. He gave me opportunities to teach and encouraged me to trust God again. I can honestly say I would not be doing what I do today without his steady encouragement. Much of what he did was never in the spotlight, but the fruit is still being seen today.
So here is the encouragement. Keep doing good. Even if no one sees it now, God does. And one day, it will all come out in the most beautiful way.
Reflection Question: What unseen good are you sowing right now that you can trust God to reveal in His perfect time?
Prayer: Father, thank You for reminding me that no good deed is wasted in Your Kingdom. Help me to keep serving, giving, and loving, even when no one else sees. Let my life bring You glory both in public and in private. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
