Walking In The Light

From Today’s One Year Bible Reading Plan at BibleInAYearOnline.com

But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. - 1 John 1:7 (NLT)

Light can be powerful, yet comforting. It warms us, it helps us see clearly, and it reveals what is hidden. Light does not have to force its way in. It just shows up and darkness can’t stay. That is what walking with Jesus is like. He does not come to shame us. He comes to shine light into every place that needs healing, hope, and wholeness.

In 1 John, we are reminded that living in the light is not about being perfect. It is about being honest. It is about letting God meet us right where we are. It is about choosing connection over hiding and grace over guilt. God never expects us to have it all together. He invites us to step into His light and let Him do the transforming.

Psalm 119 echoes this when the psalmist cries out to God and says, “Give my life back because of your unfailing love.” That is the kind of love that draws us out of the shadows and into freedom. It is not harsh or condemning. It is healing. It is safe. It is steady.

Walking in the light means we do not have to pretend. We get to be fully known and fully loved. That kind of love changes everything. It quiets shame. It silences fear. And it makes space for real joy and real growth. Come to the Light today.

Reflection Question: Are there areas in your heart where God is inviting you to step into the light and trust Him more deeply?

Prayer: Father, thank You for loving me just as I am. Help me to live in Your light with honesty and freedom. Cleanse my heart and make me whole again. Thank You that I never have to hide from You. I choose to walk with You in grace and truth. In Jesus’ name, amen.
