Walk in Joy
From Today’s One Year Bible Reading Plan at BibleInAYearOnline.com
How joyful are those who fear the Lord, all who follow his ways. - Psalm 128:1 (NLT)
When we think about joy, we often tie it to circumstances. A good day. A kind word. A breakthrough. But this verse reminds us that joy is not rooted in what happens to us, but in Who we walk with. Joy flows from a heart aligned with God, from a life that says yes to His ways even when it’s not easy or popular.
Following the Lord is not about checking every box or getting everything right. It is about drawing near to Him daily and saying, “Lead me.” It is about choosing to love when it would be easier to pull away. It is about seeking His wisdom instead of leaning on what we already know. And in the middle of that journey, even when life gets messy or uncertain, we discover something steady and sweet, His joy.
That is the beauty of grace. We are not earning God’s favor. We are walking in it. And when we walk with Him, there is blessing. Not always in the form we expect. It might not be instant, and it might not look like the world’s version of success. But it is real. It is peace that calms your thoughts at night. It is strength that holds you up in your hardest moment. It is love that never turns away. And it is joy, deep and lasting, woven into the very steps we take with Him.
So take a deep breath today and let this sink in. You are not walking alone. And the One who walks with you is faithful. Stay close to Him. Let His way be your way. That is where the blessing lives.
Reflection Question: Where in your life do you need to lean into God’s way instead of your own understanding?
Prayer: Father, thank You for inviting us to walk with You. We want to follow Your way with hearts that trust You completely. Fill us with Your joy, and help us stay close to You no matter what comes. In Jesus’ name, amen.
