The Wait
“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” — Psalm 27:14 (NLT)
Waiting is hard. Especially when you sense God has something greater for you, but your current reality feels far from it. Joseph’s story reminds us of this tension. He dreamed of leadership and blessing but instead faced betrayal, false accusations, and imprisonment. From the outside, it looked like failure. Yet Joseph’s story teaches us that what feels like delay isn’t denial, it’s preparation.
Genesis 39:2 says, “The Lord was with Joseph, so he succeeded in everything he did.” The difference wasn’t his circumstances, but God’s presence. Even in the darkest places, Joseph carried God’s blessing, which worked no matter where he was.
Maybe you’re in a waiting season now. The dream feels distant, and the delay feels endless. But like Joseph, your story is unfolding. God is with you, refining and preparing you for what’s ahead. Waiting isn’t passive, it’s an active trust in the One who holds your future.
David encourages us in Psalm 27:14 to be brave and courageous while we wait, not because we know all the answers, but because we know the One who does.
The same God who was with Joseph is with you. His blessing is at work in your life. Stay faithful. Keep trusting. Your turnaround is on the way, and it will be worth the wait.
Reflection Question: Where do you need to shift your perspective and trust that God is working even in the waiting?
Prayer: Father, thank You for being with me in every season. Help me to wait with courage and confidence, knowing You are always working for my good. I trust that what You have spoken will come to pass. In Jesus’ name, amen.
