The Spot
The priests could not continue their service because of the cloud, for the glorious presence of the Lord filled the Temple of God. ā 2 Chronicles 5:14 (NLT)
Have you ever had a favorite spot where you just feel at home? Maybe itās your favorite chair, your cozy reading nook, or the comfort of your bed after a long day. Thereās something special about those places where we can just be ourselves, relax, and truly feel at peace. I remember a trip my wife and I took, and while it was wonderful to explore new places, coming back home made me realize how much I appreciated that sense of comfort and belonging.
In a similar way, God has a place where He feels at home, and itās a place where His presence truly dwells. In 2 Chronicles 5, we read about the dedication of Solomonās Temple, a moment where God made His presence known in a powerful way. As the people gathered to praise Him, the atmosphere shifted. When they praised God for His goodness and unfailing love, His glory filled the Temple, and His presence became so tangible that the priests couldnāt even continue their service. God had found His spot, the place where He would reside, not just because of the magnificent building, but because of the hearts that worshiped Him.
God doesnāt just dwell in grand buildings or perfect circumstances; He dwells in the hearts that exalt His goodness and love. Today, as we reflect on His goodness, letās make room in our hearts for His presence. Let His spot be our spot, where we rest in the knowledge of His unending love and grace.
Reflection Question: How can you create a space in your life today to focus on Godās goodness and love?
Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your overwhelming love and presence. I want to make room in my heart for You today. Help me to rest in the assurance of Your goodness and to experience the peace of Your presence. May Your glory fill my life in a way that transforms me. In Jesus name, Amen.
