The Power of One
Todayâs key verse is taken from the daily Bible reading plan at BibleInAYearOnline.com
In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and havenât strayed away! - Luke 15:7 (NLT)
Thereâs something incredibly moving about knowing you matter. Not in a general, âeveryone mattersâ kind of way, but in a deeply personal, âyou matter to Godâ kind of way. Thatâs the message Jesus shares through the parables in Luke 15.
Whether itâs a lost sheep, a misplaced coin, or a runaway son, Jesus paints a powerful picture of how much the Father values just one. One person. One soul. One heart turned back to Him.
Itâs easy to get lost in the crowd, especially in a world that celebrates big numbers and grand gestures. But Godâs economy is different. He rejoices over you. Your story, your return, your yes, it brings joy to heaven.
I love how Jesus describes the father in the story of the prodigal son. He doesnât wait on the porch with crossed arms. He runs. In that culture, dignified men didnât run, it was considered undignified. But this father throws off every cultural norm and runs to embrace his son, dirt and all. Thatâs grace. Thatâs the heart of God.
Sometimes we wonder if weâre worth it. If weâve gone too far or failed too much. But the truth is, your worth isnât measured by your track record. Itâs measured by the cross. And Jesus is saying, âYou were worth it. Still are.â
So today, let this truth sink deep: You are not just one in a crowd. You are the one He celebrates. The one He came for. The one He loves.
Reflection Question: When was the last time you paused to truly believe how personal Godâs love is for you?
Prayer: Father, thank You that Your love is personal and unfailing. Help me to receive it fully today, not as one in the crowd, but as the one You rejoiced over. Thank You for pursuing me, for seeing me, and for loving me just as I am. In Jesus Name, Amen.
