The Lord Is My Strength

The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. - Psalm 18:2 (NLT)

Life can feel uncertain, and sometimes the challenges before us seem bigger than we can handle. Yet in the midst of it all, God invites us to find security in Him. He is not distant or passive, He is our rock and fortress, a safe place where we can stand firm no matter what storms come our way.

This verse reminds us that our strength does not come from ourselves but from God. When we face fear, difficulty, or the unknown, we can take refuge in His presence. Like a fortress that shields from attack, God protects us, gives clarity when we feel confused, and strengthens us to keep moving forward.

Finding refuge in God also brings peace. It shifts our focus from what we cannot control to the One who is in control. When we rest in Him, our hearts are steadied, our minds are calmed, and our hope is renewed. We are reminded that no matter how intense the storm, we are never alone and never without support.

Today, you can choose to take your worries and fears to God. Lean on Him. Trust Him. Stand firm on the foundation of His strength, knowing that He is fully capable of carrying what feels too heavy for you. When God is your rock, you are unshakable.

Reflection Question: What area of your life feels uncertain or overwhelming today, and how can you take refuge in God’s strength?

Prayer: Lord, thank You for being my rock and my refuge. When I feel weak, afraid, or unsure, help me to trust in Your strength and protection. Teach me to stand firm in Your presence and to find peace in knowing You are always with me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
