Take a Little Trip

Today’s key verse is taken from the daily Bible reading plan at BibleInAYearOnline.com

He showed you these things so you would know that the Lord is God and there is no other. - Deuteronomy 4:35 (NIV)

Have you ever felt that nervous excitement when a new opportunity opens up in front of you? Maybe it’s a new job, a move to a new place, or a decision that feels huge. You know in your heart that it’s the right step, but all that uncertainty can still make you feel a little uneasy. It’s in those moments, when you’re facing something new, that we could all use a little trip.

In the Bible, as the Israelites were about to step into the Promised Land, they were nervous too. They’d been wandering in the wilderness for years, and now they were on the edge of something big. So, Moses took them on a “memory trip.” He reminded them of all the times God had come through for them, leading them out of Egypt, parting the Red Sea, providing food when they were hungry, and being their guide through every twist and turn. He encouraged them to remember all those moments when God had been faithful so that they could trust Him for the road ahead.

We can do the same thing when we face something new. It’s so easy to get caught up in the nerves of the present moment, but taking a moment to look back at how God has shown up for us in the past can really change our perspective. When we think about His faithfulness through tough times, it gives us confidence to trust that He’s going to be with us in this next step, too.

So, if you’re standing at a crossroads right now or feeling unsure about the future, take a little trip down memory lane. Remember how God has been with you before, and let that fuel your faith as you step forward.

Reflection Question: What are some ways you’ve seen God be faithful in your life? How can remembering those moments help you trust Him as you move forward?

Prayer: God, thank You for always being faithful. When I face the unknown, help me to remember the ways You’ve led me in the past and use that to give me the confidence to trust You now. I know You’re with me every step of the way. In Jesus Name, Amen.
