Still Chosen, Still Loved

Today’s key verse is taken from the daily Bible reading plan at BibleInAYearOnline.com

Yet the Lord set his affection on your ancestors and loved them, and he chose you, their descendants, above all the nations, as it is today. - Deuteronomy 10:15 (NIV)

Have you ever had a moment where you just didn’t feel like enough? Maybe you messed up again, lost your temper, or doubted God’s promises. It’s easy to start wondering if God is tired of us, if we’ve somehow disqualified ourselves from His love.

But then we read verses like Deuteronomy 10:15. God is talking to Israel, people who had complained, doubted, and flat-out disobeyed. And yet, He says He still chose them. He still set His affection on them. Not because they had earned it, but because He wanted to.

God’s love is not a reward for perfection. It’s an expression of who He is.

In Luke 8, Jesus tells the parable of the sower. Some seeds fall on rocky or thorny ground, but some fall on good soil. And guess what? The “good soil” isn’t perfect, it’s simply willing to receive. That’s the invitation for us today.

Psalm 69 shows David feeling forgotten and rejected, but he ends with praise, knowing that God never turns away from those who seek Him. And Proverbs reminds us that it's God’s favor that secures us, not our achievements.

So no matter how unqualified you may feel, remember this: You are still chosen. Still loved. Still held by grace.

Reflection Question: Is there anywhere in your life that you have been doubting God’s love or questioning your worth to Him?

Prayer: God, thank You for choosing me, even when I fall short. Remind me that Your love is not based on my performance but on Your faithfulness. Help me to live today confident in the truth that I am Yours. In Jesus Name, Amen.
