Speak

Today’s key verse is taken from the daily Bible reading plan at BibleInAYearOnline.com

That same day the LORD said to Moses, 'Go to Moab, to the mountains east of the river, and climb Mount Nebo, which is across from Jericho. Look out across the land of Canaan, the land I am giving to the people of Israel as their own special possession.' -Deuteronomy 32:48-49 (NLT)

Imagine spending your life encouraging people toward a promise, only to reach the edge of it yourself, just to see it, but not step into it. That was Moses’ story. After leading the Israelites for 40 years, God took him up Mount Nebo, a place whose name literally means “prophet,” to glimpse the land he had spoken about for so long.

And that’s exactly what prophets do, they speak what God shows them, even if they don't see it fully come to pass themselves. But here's the good news for us today: while not all of us are called to be prophets in the official sense, we are called to speak God's Word into our lives and the world around us.

Speaking God’s Word isn’t about wishful thinking or saying magic words. It’s about coming into agreement with what God has already said and aligning our faith with His truth. Whether it’s declaring peace over your anxious heart, speaking healing over a loved one, or reminding yourself of God’s promises in a tough season, your words matter.

Proverbs 18:21 says, “The tongue has the power of life and death…” What we say shapes atmospheres. It builds up or tears down. And when we speak His Word in faith, we invite Heaven into our situation.

So today, don’t underestimate your voice. Let it echo God’s truth. You never know whose “Promised Land” you might be pointing toward.

Reflection Question: Is there one area in your life where you need to start speaking God’s Word instead of your worries?

Prayer: Lord, thank You for the power of Your Word. Help me to speak life, not fear, over my circumstances. Give me boldness to declare Your promises and trust that You’re working, even when I don’t see it yet. In Jesus Name, Amen.
