Real Change

Today’s key verse is taken from the daily Bible reading plan at BibleInAYearOnline.com

Your unfailing love will last forever. Your faithfulness is as enduring as the heavens. - Psalm 89:2 (NLT)

Have you ever found yourself frustrated, thinking, “I need to change this,” whether it’s about yourself or someone else? Maybe it’s a habit you’ve been trying to break, or a relationship that needs healing. We all know areas where we want to grow or improve, but sometimes, it feels like no matter how hard we try, real change is just out of reach.

In 2 Corinthians 3:18, Paul tells us that true, lasting transformation doesn’t come from following rules or laws, it comes from focusing on Jesus and what He has already done for us. We can’t change ourselves by trying harder to follow a set of rules. The law, as good as it is, only shows us where we fall short. But Jesus? He’s the one who brings real change, because of His love and the power of His Spirit working in us.

When we shift our focus from our failures to the finished work of Christ, that’s when the transformation begins. The more we focus on Jesus and who we are in Him, the more the Holy Spirit changes us from the inside out. It's not about striving harder; it’s about resting in what Jesus has already done and trusting that the Spirit will shape us into His likeness.

Today, let’s stop trying to change by our own strength and start focusing on Jesus. Let His love and the Holy Spirit’s power do what we could never do on our own, bring real change in our lives.

Reflection Question: Is there any area of your life you need to stop striving to change on your own, and instead, focus on Jesus and His finished work?

Prayer: Lord, thank You for the gift of transformation through Jesus. I choose today to focus on Your love and what You’ve already done for me. Help me to stop relying on my own efforts and trust in Your Spirit to change me from the inside out. In Jesus Name, Amen.
