Quiet Confidence

From Today’s One Year Bible Reading Plan at BibleInAYearOnline.com

But I have calmed and quieted myself, like a weaned child who no longer cries for its mother’s milk. Yes, like a weaned child is my soul within me. - Psalm 131:2 (NLT)

There’s something so powerful about choosing to quiet your soul. Not because everything is perfect, not because you have all the answers, but because you have decided to trust God no matter what.

Psalm 131 is short, but it speaks volumes. It is not about striving. It is not about proving anything. It is about settling into the arms of a God who is faithful. The psalmist describes his soul like a child who has been weaned. Not demanding. Not restless. Just still. Just safe.

We all have moments where life pulls at us. Maybe you are in a season where answers are slow, and peace feels far away. Maybe your mind keeps racing and your heart feels heavy. But this is the invitation: to come back to quiet trust, to release what you cannot control, and to remember that God is still in charge and His timing is still perfect.

The world may try to rush you. Pressure may try to distract you. But your soul was made to be still in the presence of God. That is where your confidence lives. Not in knowing what comes next, but in knowing who holds it all together.

Reflection Question: What can you release to God today in exchange for His peace?

Prayer: Lord, thank You for being my calm in every storm. I choose to quiet my heart and rest in You. Help me to trust You more and walk in quiet confidence, knowing that You hold it all together. Teach me to release my worries and rest in Your faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
