Now I See

Today’s key verse is taken from the daily Bible reading plan at BibleInAYearOnline.com

But I know this: I was blind, and now I can see! - John 9:25 in the NLT

Imagine the very first thing you ever see with your eyes… and it’s Jesus. That’s exactly what happened to the man in John chapter 9. He had been blind since birth, never seen a sunrise, a familiar face, or even the colors of the world around him. Then one day, Jesus comes along, puts mud on his eyes, tells him to wash in the pool of Siloam, and just like that… light floods in. Can you even imagine?

What’s so powerful about this moment isn’t just that his physical eyes were opened, it’s what followed. This man gets dragged in front of religious leaders and questioned over and over about what happened. He didn’t have a long theological answer or a spiritual resume. He just had this simple, powerful truth: “I was blind, and now I see.” That’s it. That’s grace.

Later, Jesus finds him again (don’t you love how Jesus always circles back?) and introduces Himself fully: “You’ve seen me now; I’m the one you’ve been waiting for.” The man’s response? Worship. Pure, joyful worship.

You and I may not have been physically blind, but we’ve all had seasons where we couldn’t see clearly, about who God really is, about who we are in Him, or about what He’s done for us. And just like this man, Jesus comes to open our eyes to see the Father’s goodness, mercy, and love. He wants us to know we are deeply loved, fully seen, and completely accepted.

Let Him open your eyes to see His heart, and it’s full of grace.

Reflection Question: Is there an area of your life is Jesus inviting you to see more clearly through the lens of His love and grace?

Prayer: Jesus, thank You for opening my eyes to see who You are. Help me to see Your goodness and grace every day and to live with the confidence that comes from knowing I am loved by You. In Jesus Name, Amen.
