Never Alone

Today’s key verse is taken from the daily Bible reading plan at BibleInAYearOnline.com

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. - John 14:16 (NLT)

Some of Jesus’ final words to His disciples before going to the cross weren’t commands or warnings, they were comforting promises. He knew their hearts would be shaken. He knew they’d feel lost without Him. So He leaned in and said, “I will not abandon you as orphans.”

That kind of tenderness reveals so much about the heart of God. Jesus wasn’t trying to simply prepare His friends to survive without Him, He was preparing them to thrive with the Holy Spirit.

The same Holy Spirit, the Advocate, the Comforter, is with us today. He doesn’t just drop in when we need help; He abides. He makes His home in us. He teaches, guides, reminds us of truth, and anchors our hearts when everything feels unsteady.

And Jesus didn’t just promise presence; He promised peace. Not the kind the world gives, temporary and fragile, but His own peace. A peace that steadies us when we don’t understand. A peace that whispers, “You’re not alone,” when life feels heavy.

We all face moments where we don’t know what to do, or where fear wants to take over. But the Holy Spirit is right there, reminding us of who we are, who He is, and what Jesus has already secured for us.

Today, take a deep breath and lean into that promise. He’s here. He’s not going anywhere. And He’s not just walking with you, He’s living in you.

Reflection Question: Is there anywhere in your life you need to be reminded that the Holy Spirit is present and guiding you?

Prayer: Holy Spirit, thank You for always being with me. Teach me, lead me, and help me rest in Your peace. I receive the fullness of Your presence today. In Jesus Name, Amen.
