Listen to Him
Todayâs key verse is taken from the daily Bible reading plan at BibleInAYearOnline.com
Then a voice from the cloud said, âThis is my Son, my Chosen One. Listen to him.â - Luke 9:35 (NLT)
If youâve ever found yourself needing advice, you know how overwhelming it can be to sort through all the voices. Friends, family, books, podcasts, social media, and of course, Google. Everyone has something to say. But in Luke 9, during the powerful moment of Jesus' transfiguration, God Himself cuts through the noise with a crystal-clear instruction: âThis is my Son, my Chosen One. Listen to Him.â
That statement wasnât just for Peter, James, and John on the mountain. Itâs for us too. In a world full of voices competing for our attention, God gently reminds us to quiet the noise and tune in to Jesus.
One of the most encouraging truths we find in Scripture is that Jesus isnât distant or reluctant to guide us. James 1:5 reminds us that when we ask God for wisdom, He gives it generously and without finding fault. He wants to speak into our lives.
Just like Abrahamâs servant who prayed for guidance and found Rebekah, or the disciples who looked to Jesus when they didnât know how to feed thousands, we can bring our questions and uncertainties to Him. And when we do, He responds with wisdom, peace, and often, a next step.
So today, if youâre facing a big decision, feeling uncertain about your future, or just needing some direction for your day, pause. Invite Jesus into the conversation. Open His Word, pray honestly, and listen for His voice above all the others.
Reflection Question: Is there a decision or situation you are facing today? If so, where do you need to quiet other voices and simply listen to Jesus?
Prayer: Jesus, thank You that You are always willing to lead and guide me. Help me to quiet the noise around me and focus on Your voice. Teach me to listen closely and trust what You say, knowing that You are the Chosen One who always leads me in love and truth. In Jesus Name, Amen.
