Limitless
“And since God gave these Gentiles the same gift he gave us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to stand in God’s way?” Acts 11:17 (NLT)
Peter had just returned from something unexpected. He had witnessed the Holy Spirit fall on a group of Gentile believers in the same way He had fallen on the Jewish believers at Pentecost. It was a game-changing moment. For generations, lines had been drawn between people groups. But now, God was erasing those lines with His love and grace.
When Peter shared this news with the other believers, some were skeptical. But Peter simply told the truth. God gave them the same gift He gave us. The Holy Spirit made no distinction. In that moment, Peter’s heart and perspective had been completely transformed. He was no longer trying to preserve a system. He was following the movement of God.
Sometimes, God will move in ways that surprise us. He might bless someone we didn’t expect. He might open a door we never saw coming. And when He does, it invites us to do what Peter did, step aside and let Him work.
Psalm 135 reminds us that the Lord does whatever pleases Him, in heaven and on earth. He is not bound by our traditions or expectations. He is God, and He is always reaching further than we think, loving deeper than we imagine, and working in places we may have overlooked.
Reflection Question: Is there an area of your life where God is asking you to trust how He is working, even if it does not fit your expectations?
Prayer: Father, I do not want to stand in Your way. Open my heart to see where You are moving and give me the courage to follow. Thank You for being a God who reaches beyond boundaries. I trust You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
