Keeping The Victory

From Today’s One Year Bible Reading Plan at BibleInAYearOnline.com

Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches. - Revelation 2:29 (NLT)

The Book of Revelation might feel a little heavy at times, but when you slow down and listen with your heart, you begin to realize it is not just about prophecy or end times. It is deeply personal. It is Jesus speaking directly to His people with love and correction. And even more than that, it is full of hope.

In Revelation chapter two, Jesus has something to say to each of the churches. What stands out is that He sees both the good and the bad. He notices their strengths, but He also calls out the things that are pulling them away from Him. Not to shame them but to bring them back to life.

One church lost their love. Another was gripped by fear. One had fallen into compromise, and another had let spiritual manipulation in the door. These are not just ancient issues. These are real things we all face in different ways. Who has not battled fear or lost sight of love or struggled with compromise in a weak moment?

But the amazing thing is that Jesus does not just point out the problem. He gives a way forward. He always leads with truth but follows through with grace. He reminds them, and us, that victory is possible. Not through our own strength but by staying close to the Holy Spirit and listening when He speaks.

That is what keeping the victory really looks like. It is not about living perfectly. It is about living responsive. Open ears. Soft heart. Willing spirit. We fall sometimes, but we are never disqualified. The Spirit of God is right here to help us keep moving forward.

Reflection Question: Where is the Holy Spirit gently calling you to realign your heart and keep walking in victory?

Prayer: Lord, thank You for loving us enough to speak truth to us. Thank You for correction that brings life, not shame. Help us keep listening to Your Spirit every day. Strengthen us when we feel weak, and lead us into grace and victory. We want hearts that are soft and responsive to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
