In The River

Have you ever noticed how refreshing it feels to be near water? The sound of a river, the stillness of a lake, it brings peace. In Ezekiel, God gives a powerful vision of a river flowing from His temple. Wherever it goes, life springs up. Trees grow. Fish fill the waters. Healing comes. Dead places come alive again.

This river isn’t just about physical water. It’s a picture of God’s presence flowing freely through our lives. We are the temple now, and His Spirit brings life to every dry or broken place we invite Him into.

Sometimes we try to fix ourselves before coming to God, but that’s not how His life flows. Healing flows when we draw near, when we surrender control, and let Him move in our hearts. The Spirit of God isn’t afraid of your doubts or mess; He steps in with grace to bring transformation from the inside out.

Ezekiel says the deeper the water, the more life it produced. Maybe God is inviting you to go deeper today, not just ankle deep, but fully immersed in His presence. Not more pressure, more presence. More peace. More of His transforming love. Where He flows, life flourishes, even in areas you thought were too far gone.

Reflection Question: Where do you need the life-giving presence of God to flow more freely in your heart and daily rhythms?

Prayer: Father, thank You that Your Spirit brings life and healing. I don’t want to stay on the edge, I want to go deeper with You. Let Your presence flow into every area of my life and refresh what has been dry. I trust You with it all. In Jesus’ name, amen.
