Help is Here

From Today’s One Year Bible Reading Plan at BibleInAYearOnline.com

Joyful are those who have the God of Israel as their helper, whose hope is in the Lord their God. - Psalm 146:5 9 (NLT)

When life feels uncertain or heavy, it helps to know that we are not facing it alone. Psalm 146 reminds us that we have a Helper. Not just any helper, but the God who made Heaven and Earth. The One who keeps His promises forever. That truth does not just give us comfort, it gives us hope.

Sometimes, especially after the joy and activity of Christmas, we can feel a little empty or worn out. The wrapping paper is gone, the meals are finished, and we are left with the reality of life again. But the message of Christmas was never meant to be a moment. It is a promise. God came to help us. Not once a year, but every single day.

Zechariah speaks to this in chapter 10. God promises to care for His people, to strengthen and restore them. He says He will bring them back because He has compassion on them. That is His heart toward us. Even when we wander or grow weary, His help is not far off. He is not waiting for us to get it all right. He is already reaching out with love.

The Lord is not just our strength when we are strong. He is our Helper when we feel weak. And in Him, we find joy that does not fade, joy rooted in His presence and His faithfulness.

So if today feels like a stretch or your heart feels a little tired, remember that your Helper is near. He sees you. He knows you. And He is always working on your behalf.

Reflection Question: What would it look like to rely on God as your Helper instead of trying to carry everything on your own?

Prayer: Lord, thank You for being my Helper and my hope. Even when I feel tired or uncertain, You are steady and faithful. Help me to trust You more and lean on Your strength. Fill me with Your joy again today, knowing You are working on my behalf. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
