He Still Says Yes

"Turn to me and have mercy, for I am alone and in deep distress." —Psalm 25:16 (NLT)

Some days feel like too much. Maybe it’s a quiet weight you carry that no one else sees. Maybe it’s regret, or guilt, or just a deep sense of weariness. Psalm 25 captures that kind of moment. David doesn’t hold anything back. He says exactly how he feels, alone and overwhelmed. But he also knows who to talk to. He says, “Turn to me,” trusting that God will respond with mercy, not distance.

That’s the kind of God we have. He doesn’t ignore our pain. He doesn’t flinch at our honesty. He meets us right where we are, in whatever condition we’re in. There’s a story in 2 Chronicles 33 that shows this so clearly. King Manasseh had gone far off course. He rejected God, led others into sin, and filled the land with things that were completely against the Lord. But when he was taken captive and hit rock bottom, he cried out to God. And God heard him. Not only did He hear him, He welcomed him back and restored him.

That’s the heart of our Father. Even after all the wrong turns, even after the distance we sometimes create, He still says yes when we call.

So if today feels heavy or if you’re carrying something you think disqualifies you, remember this, He isn’t pushing you away. He’s waiting for you to turn, to speak, to ask. And when you do, His response is steady. His love doesn’t waver. He still says yes.

Reflection Question: Is there an area of your life where you’ve been afraid to turn back to God?

Prayer: Lord, thank You for never turning away from me. Even when I’ve messed up or pulled away, You still say yes to me when I call. Help me to believe that today and to come to You with a heart open to receive. In Jesus’ name, amen.
