Hand in Hand

"But as for me, I trust in You, O LORD, I say, 'You are my God.'" – Psalm 31:14 (NLT)

Trust is something we all long for, but it’s not always easy, especially when the path ahead feels uncertain. In Psalm 31:14, David boldly declares his trust in God. This verse holds both faith and surrender. It’s more than believing God can handle what’s next; it’s choosing to trust His plan even when we don’t fully understand it.

There’s a powerful story in the Gospels about a woman who’d been sick for twelve years. She had spent everything on doctors but wasn’t healed. When she heard Jesus was passing by, she believed if she just touched His garment, she would be healed. That was specific faith, knowing exactly what she needed and believing God could provide it. And when she touched His cloak, Jesus immediately stopped, acknowledging that her faith had made her whole, restored in every way.

Sometimes, like this woman, our faith is specific. Other times, like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, it’s trust in the unknown. They trusted God to save them from the fire, but even if He didn’t, they trusted His plan. And God showed up with them in the fire, just as He always does.

Whether your faith is specific today or you’re trusting God with something uncertain, remember: He’s right there with you. You don’t have to have all the answers, just walk hand in hand with Him.

Reflection Question: Are you in a season of specific faith, or do you need to trust God with something uncertain? How can you lean into His faithfulness today?

Prayer: Father, thank You for being trustworthy in all things. Whether I know exactly what I need or I’m walking in faith through the unknown, I trust that You are with me. Strengthen my faith and help me rest in Your perfect plan. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
