Grow It

From Today’s One Year Bible Reading Plan at BibleInAYearOnline.com

Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better. - Colossians 1:10 (NLT)

When Bill and Bette Johnson bought a little patch of farmland in southern New Jersey back in 1953, they had no idea what it would one day become. Their dream was simple. They wanted to grow sweet corn and share it with their community. Bill would sell that corn from the back of a wagon on the roadside. What started with a small step of faith began to grow. Year after year they planted and harvested. That small farm is now known as Johnson’s Corner Farm, and it has become a destination for people from miles away, offering everything from strawberries to pumpkins and hayrides to holiday lights.

That is the beauty of growth. It often starts in ways that feel small and ordinary. One seed planted in faith can lead to a harvest greater than you imagined.

The Apostle Paul reminds us in Colossians 1:10 that our lives are meant to produce every kind of good fruit. But fruit does not grow overnight. It comes through a process. As we grow in our knowledge of who God is and how deeply He loves us, our lives begin to reflect that. It shows up in our patience, our kindness, our peace, our courage. It shows up when we stay rooted in the truth that we are loved, accepted, and made righteous through Christ.

Paul encourages us not to drift away from the assurance we received when we first heard the Good News. When you know God and you trust His grace, growth is inevitable.

So keep planting. Keep watering your heart with His Word. Stay rooted in His truth. Let God do the growing.

Reflection Question: Where in your life do you sense God calling you to stay planted and trust Him for growth?

Prayer: Father, thank You for the assurance I have in Jesus. Help me to stay rooted in Your truth and to grow in grace. Teach me to trust Your timing and Your process. Let my life be full of good fruit that brings glory to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
