Grace That Rebuilds

Today’s key verse is taken from the daily Bible reading plan at BibleInAYearOnline.com

For the LORD will rebuild Jerusalem. He will appear in His glory. - Psalm 102:16 (NLT)

There’s something powerful about watching a restoration project, from an old house being brought back to life, to a garden blooming after winter. Restoration takes time, vision, and a whole lot of care. And that’s exactly what God does in our lives, He restores. Psalm 102:16 reminds us that “the LORD will rebuild Jerusalem,” and maybe today, you need to hear that He’s in the business of rebuilding you, too.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re living in ruins, emotionally, spiritually, or even physically, you’re not alone. We all go through seasons where things feel broken, hopes fade, or the path forward is hard to see. But grace doesn’t leave us where we are. Grace says, “I see what’s broken, and I’m not walking away, I’m making it new.”

In Luke 19, we see Jesus meeting a man named Zacchaeus, someone who’d made a mess of his life through greed and corruption. And what does Jesus do? He invites Himself over for dinner! That one encounter changed everything. Grace came into his home, and restoration followed. Zacchaeus didn’t earn it; he simply received it.

So whether you're waiting for direction like the tribes in Joshua who hadn’t yet received their land, or you feel far from God’s promises, remember this: God isn’t finished. He’s rebuilding something beautiful in you, piece by piece.

Reflection Question: Is there anywhere in your life do you need to trust God to rebuild what’s been broken or lost?

Prayer: Lord, thank You for being a God who rebuilds and restores. Even when I don’t see progress, remind me that Your grace is still working. Help me trust You with the pieces of my life, knowing You’re creating something good. In Jesus Name, Amen.
