Goodness Drawing Near

From Today’s One Year Bible Reading Plan at BibleInAYearOnline.com

Truly God is good to Israel, to those whose hearts are pure. - Psalm 73:1 (NLT)

Life can feel like a constant comparison game. We look around and see others seemingly thriving, no struggles, no worries, just smooth sailing. Meanwhile, we wrestle with challenges, and it's easy to wonder, "Why does it seem so unfair?"

Asaph, the psalmist, had those same thoughts. He envied the prosperity of the wicked and questioned the value of his own purity. But everything changed when he entered the sanctuary of God. In God's presence, his perspective shifted. He realized that the fleeting success of the wicked was nothing compared to the eternal security found in God.

Drawing near to God isn't just about seeking answers; it's about finding peace and understanding. As Asaph discovered, God's presence brings clarity and comfort. It's in that closeness that we find our true refuge and strength.

Reflection Question: When was the last time you intentionally drew near to God, setting aside distractions just to be in His presence?

Prayer: Father, thank You for being our constant refuge. Help us to draw near to You, especially when life feels overwhelming. May we find peace and clarity in Your presence. Strengthen our hearts and guide us with Your wisdom. In Jesus’ name, amen.
