God’s Prize Patrol
“Through Christ, God has given us the privilege and authority as apostles to tell Gentiles everywhere what God has done for them, so that they will believe and obey him, bringing glory to his name.” — Romans 1:5 (NLT)
Have you ever dreamed of being on the Publishers Clearinghouse Prize Patrol, knocking on doors and delivering a giant check with the news that someone has won big? It’s exciting just to imagine what it would be like to change someone’s life in an instant, offering them something that could completely transform their future. The thought of delivering such good news always brings a smile to my face.
But did you know that as followers of Christ, we have an even more incredible opportunity? We get to be part of “God’s Prize Patrol.” We’ve been given the privilege to go out into the world and tell people that they’ve won something much greater than any sweepstakes or contest could ever offer. Through Jesus, we have received the gift of eternal life and reconciliation with God, something worth far more than any earthly prize.
Paul, in Romans 1:5, recognized this incredible calling. After receiving the good news himself, he couldn’t help but share it with others. He dedicated his life to spreading the message of God’s love and grace, saying in Romans 1:16, “I am not ashamed of the Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes.”
Just as the Prize Patrol delivers exciting news, we too are called to deliver the best news ever, the message of salvation through Jesus Christ. As we go about our day, we have countless opportunities to share this message, bringing hope and joy to others. And when we do, we experience the joy of being part of God’s incredible plan for the world.
Reflection Question: How can you embrace the role of being part of “God’s Prize Patrol” and share the good news of Christ with someone today?
Prayer: Father, thank You for the privilege of being part of Your mission to share the good news of Jesus. Help me to boldly and lovingly share the hope of eternal life with those around me. May I never forget the joy and power that come with delivering such life-changing news. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
