Fresh Start Every Day

From Today’s One Year Bible Reading Plan at BibleInAYearOnline.com

But God’s plan was to make a new way for people to be right with him. So he made a new agreement, and it did not involve the old system of regulations for living. God’s new agreement was based on the blood of Christ, who offered himself as a sacrifice to take away sins. - Hebrews 9:15 (NLT)

Every day is a new chance to step into the grace God so freely offers. The old covenant was full of rules that reminded people of their mistakes. Ezekiel shares how God wanted His people to turn away from past failures and live a life renewed by His mercy. That is still true for us today.

Hebrews 9 reminds us that Jesus opened a new and living way for us by giving Himself as the perfect sacrifice. It’s not about trying to earn God’s favor by checking off the right boxes. It’s about embracing the freedom that comes from His finished work on the cross. We can walk confidently, knowing we have a fresh start every time we come to Him.

Psalm 106 shows us that even when people forget God or make mistakes, He remains faithful and ready to restore. His love never runs out. Proverbs 27:10 says, “Don’t abandon your friends or the friends of your family.” God’s faithfulness invites us into relationship, reminding us that we are never alone in this journey.

No matter where you have been or what you’ve done, God’s grace is greater. He welcomes you to turn from old ways and step into the new life Jesus has made possible.

Reflection Question: What old ways do you need to leave behind to fully embrace the fresh start God offers you today?

Prayer: Father, thank You for the new covenant through Jesus and the fresh start You give us every day. Help us to walk in Your grace and leave behind anything that holds us back. Teach us to trust Your faithful love more deeply. In Jesus’ name, amen.
