Ever Watching

Today’s key verse is taken from the daily Bible reading plan at BibleInAYearOnline.com

What is the price of five sparrows, two copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. - Luke 12:6 (NLT)

You ever hear a story that just sticks with you? I came across one recently about a man in California who thought he rescued a lost puppy… turns out, it was a baby coyote! Yep, not a cuddly pup, but a wild animal. But here’s the wildest part, when animal rescue showed up, they didn’t just get rid of it. They treated it with care, fed it, and planned for its safe return to the wild. That kind of compassion blew me away.

My first reaction, honestly, was like, “What are they going to do with that thing?” But then it hit me, how often do we forget just how much God cares for the “unwanted” or “overlooked”? And not just others, but us too.

In Luke 12, Jesus tells His listeners something powerful: not even a sparrow is forgotten by God. And then He says, you’re worth way more than sparrows. In other words, even when you feel unnoticed, overlooked, or like a total mess, God sees you. He knows you. And He values you deeply.

We may not always feel worthy of that kind of attention or love. But through Jesus, we’ve been rescued and made new, not just to sit in safety, but to go out and reflect that same love and compassion to others.

So today, don’t live in fear or doubt. You are not forgotten. The same God who watches over sparrows (and apparently baby coyotes!) is watching over you too.

Reflection Question: Where in your life do you need to be reminded that God sees you and values you?

Prayer: Father, thank You that I never go unnoticed by You. Even when I feel unworthy or forgotten, You remind me of my worth. Help me live with that confidence and show Your love to others who feel the same. In Jesus Name, Amen.
