Ending with Praise, Beginning with Hope

From Today’s One Year Bible Reading Plan at BibleInAYearOnline.com

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. - Revelation 22:13 (NLT)

There is something sacred about the last day of the year. We think back over all that has happened and maybe even all that didn’t happen. We feel the weight of what was and the mystery of what will be. But right in the middle of it all stands Jesus. The Alpha and the Omega. The Beginning and the End. That means He was with us at the start, He is here now, and He will be with us in every step forward.

Revelation 22 gives us a beautiful picture of what is ahead. It is full of life, healing, peace, and unbroken relationship with God. There is no darkness. No curse. Only the presence of the Lord and the joy of being His. That is not just a distant promise. It is the hope we carry with us today.

Malachi reminds us that God refines like a fire and purifies like soap. He lovingly shapes us, not to condemn us but to draw us closer to Himself. He is preparing us for what is to come. He is helping us to see more clearly and trust more deeply.

And Psalm 150 finishes the book of Psalms with one powerful call: praise. Let everything that breathes praise the Lord. That includes you. That includes now.

So as you close this year and step into a new one, take a deep breath and remember that your story is held by the One who never changes. He has been faithful. He is still good. And He is not finished.

Reflection Question: How will you carry the hope of God’s presence and promises into the year ahead?

Prayer: Lord, thank You for walking with me through this year. Thank You that You are the Beginning and the End. I choose to praise You for who You are and trust You with all that is ahead. Fill my heart with Your hope and peace as I step into this new year. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
