Divine Showoff

From Today’s One Year Bible Reading Plan at BibleInAYearOnline.com

But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. - 1 Peter 2:9 (NLT)

God does not just rescue us. He redeems us in a way that shines. He brings us out of the shadows and places us in His light so that others can see who He is through what He has done in us. That’s not arrogance. That’s grace on display.

Think about King Hezekiah. After being told to prepare for his death, he turned his face to the wall and cried out to God. God heard him and answered with an extension of fifteen more years of life. That is not a small miracle. That is mercy wrapped in time. And yes, Hezekiah may have gotten carried away with showing off all that he had afterward. But maybe it was not just pride. Maybe he was overwhelmed with gratitude and just could not help but display what God had done.

Have you ever been there? So amazed by what God has brought you through that you just want to talk about it. Show it. Share it. When God moves in your life it becomes more than a private moment. It becomes a living testimony of who He is.

Fifteen is such a specific number. A symbol of rest, healing, restoration, and deliverance. That is exactly what God gives to us in Jesus. When He saves us, He does not just clean us up. He sets us apart. He gives us new identity. Chosen. Royal. His own. And then He invites us to live in such a way that people around us catch glimpses of His goodness through us.

So let this Sozo Salvation He’s provided for you shine through your life today. Let Him show off a little. Not for your glory but for His. You are living proof that His light and life in you is real.

Reflection Question: Where has God brought you from that He now wants to shine through as a testimony of His goodness?

Prayer: Father, thank You for choosing me and calling me out of darkness into Your light. Let my life be a reflection of Your grace and love. Help me live boldly and joyfully so others can see who You are through me. Shine through every part of me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
