Build It

Now seek the Lord your God with all your heart and soul. Build the sanctuary of the Lord God so that you can bring the Ark of the Lord's Covenant and the holy vessels of God into the Temple built to honor the Lord's name. - 1 Chronicles 22:19 (NLT)

David spent years preparing for the construction of God's Temple. He gathered materials, organized workers, and made plans so that everything would be ready to build a place worthy of honoring the Lord.

But when we come to the New Testament, we discover something incredible. God no longer chooses to dwell in a building made by human hands. Through Christ, we have become His temple.

Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 3:16 that the Holy Spirit lives within every believer. What an amazing truth, that the Creator of the universe has chosen to make His home in us.

The good news doesn't stop there. Peter tells us in 2 Peter 1:3 that God's divine power has already given us everything we need for life and godliness. Through Jesus, we aren't lacking what we need to become who He's called us to be.

Jesus described this as the abundant life in John 10:10, the Greek word Zoe, a life overflowing with God's presence, purpose, and power.

Just as David prepared the Temple with care and intention, God has already provided everything necessary for us to build lives that reflect His glory. Day by day, He invites us to trust Him and allow Him to shape us into living temples where His presence is welcomed.

Reflection Question: Is there any area of your life where God is inviting you to build with greater intention so your life reflects His presence?

Prayer: Father, thank You for choosing to dwell within us through Your Holy Spirit. Thank You for providing everything we need to live the abundant life You've promised through Jesus. Help us build our lives on the solid foundation of Your Word. Shape our hearts, strengthen our faith, and make us living testimonies of Your grace. We trust You to continue the good work You've begun in us. In Jesus Name, Amen.
