All Inclusive
Todayâs key verse is taken from the daily Bible reading plan at BibleInAYearOnline.com
The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows]. - John 10:10 (NLT)
Have you ever experienced that moment when you realize youâve had access to something all along, but didnât know it? A few years ago, my car broke down at work, and I was stuck. Times where tight and I didnât really want to add a towing charge to the repair costs. Then, I remembered that my new auto insurance policy had towing included. A quick call, and before long, my car was safely at the repair shop, all covered.
Sometimes, I think we as believers do the same thing, we forget or overlook all that weâve been given in Christ. When Jesus went to the cross, He didnât just save us from sin and open the door to Heaven; He also gave us a complete "Salvation package." That package includes healing, peace, provision, protection, and wholeness. When we accept Christ, weâre not just signing up for eternal life, weâre embracing a full, abundant life, here and now.
The word âsalvationâ in the New Testament comes from the Greek words sozo and soteria, which means weâre saved, healed, delivered, preserved, protected, made prosperous, and made whole. Jesus paid for all of it, He didnât leave anything out. Isaiah 53:4-5 paints the picture of what Jesus took on for us: He bore our griefs, carried our sorrows, and by His stripes, we are healed. Everything we need is already covered in Him.
In John 10:10, Jesus says He came to give us life in abundance, overflowing! This is our inheritance in Christ. So today, take a moment to remember that you donât have to settle for less than everything Jesus paid for. Itâs all-inclusive!
Reflection Question: Are there areas in your life where youâve forgotten to claim the fullness of what Jesus already provided for you?
Prayer: Jesus, thank You for providing everything I need through Your sacrifice. Help me to live in the fullness of Your abundant life and receive all that Youâve freely given. In Jesus Name, Amen.
