A Personal Promise

Today’s key verse is taken from the daily Bible reading plan at BibleInAYearOnline.com

Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age. - Matthew 28:2 (NLT)

There are moments in life when loneliness creeps in unexpectedly. We may be surrounded by others and still feel the ache of isolation deep within. Often, this stems not from physical solitude but from emotional and spiritual overwhelm, feeling unqualified, unseen, or simply stretched too thin by life’s demands.

In such moments, Jesus offers us more than comfort, He gives us a promise. In His final words to the disciples, He didn’t just hand them a mission; He gave them assurance. “I am with you always…” Not just with them, but with you.

It’s easy to believe in a general sense that “God is with us.” But today, Jesus invites you to take that promise personally. He isn’t just present with the Church, the leaders, or the heroes of faith. He is with you, in your quiet tears, in your anxious thoughts, in the kitchen, in the car, in every appointment and every assignment.

How is it possible? It defies human logic. Yet it’s true. Not because we understand it, but because He said so. And because, like many before us, we’ve felt His presence when we needed it most. We’ve seen Him show up in ways big and small.

Today, stop trying to figure it all out. Rest in the truth that your Savior sees you, knows you, and is walking right beside you. The promise isn’t distant or impersonal. It’s intimate, constant, and unwavering. He is with you, not just in the high moments, but in the hard ones too.

Reflection Question: What situation are you currently facing where you need to remind yourself that Jesus is personally with you?

Prayer: Jesus, Thank You for the promise that You are with me always. Help me to feel Your nearness today and to trust that You care about every detail of my life. Remind me that I am never alone, and give me peace in Your presence. In Jesus Name, Amen.
