The Light of the Cross
Todayâs key verse is taken from the daily Bible reading plan at BibleInAYearOnline.com
Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path. Psalm 119:105 (NLT)
Have you ever experienced that moment when everything seems clear, and you know exactly where youâre headed? Itâs that sense of certainty and peace that comes from knowing youâre on the right path. In those moments, itâs easy to feel confident and grateful. But life doesnât always feel that way, does it?
In Psalm 119:105, weâre reminded that Godâs Word is like a lamp, shining light on our path. Itâs the kind of light that guides us through every twist and turn in life. And the most beautiful thing is that this light never goes out, no matter the season.
Think about the day Jesus went to the cross. To the disciples, it seemed like the light had dimmed. It looked like everything they had hoped for was lost. But in that moment, Jesus was doing something even bigger than they could understand. His sacrifice on the cross became the eternal light that would guide us all. Through His death, we have direct access to God, and weâre given a path of grace and purpose, no matter where life leads.
Whatâs incredible is that this light is always available to us. The Word of God, the presence of the Holy Spirit, and the love of Jesus are always here to guide us, no matter the circumstances. The cross shines a light that never fades, no matter how dark things might seem.
Reflection Question: How does knowing that Jesusâ sacrifice has paved the way for you to always have direction and clarity impact the way you approach challenges?
Prayer: Jesus, thank You for being the light in my life. Thank You for Your sacrifice on the cross, which gives me hope, direction, and purpose. Help me to always look to Your Word for guidance and trust in Your unwavering love. In Jesus Name, Amen.
