The Light of the Cross

Today’s key verse is taken from the daily Bible reading plan at BibleInAYearOnline.com

Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path. Psalm 119:105 (NLT)

Have you ever experienced that moment when everything seems clear, and you know exactly where you’re headed? It’s that sense of certainty and peace that comes from knowing you’re on the right path. In those moments, it’s easy to feel confident and grateful. But life doesn’t always feel that way, does it?

In Psalm 119:105, we’re reminded that God’s Word is like a lamp, shining light on our path. It’s the kind of light that guides us through every twist and turn in life. And the most beautiful thing is that this light never goes out, no matter the season.

Think about the day Jesus went to the cross. To the disciples, it seemed like the light had dimmed. It looked like everything they had hoped for was lost. But in that moment, Jesus was doing something even bigger than they could understand. His sacrifice on the cross became the eternal light that would guide us all. Through His death, we have direct access to God, and we’re given a path of grace and purpose, no matter where life leads.

What’s incredible is that this light is always available to us. The Word of God, the presence of the Holy Spirit, and the love of Jesus are always here to guide us, no matter the circumstances. The cross shines a light that never fades, no matter how dark things might seem.

Reflection Question: How does knowing that Jesus’ sacrifice has paved the way for you to always have direction and clarity impact the way you approach challenges?

Prayer: Jesus, thank You for being the light in my life. Thank You for Your sacrifice on the cross, which gives me hope, direction, and purpose. Help me to always look to Your Word for guidance and trust in Your unwavering love. In Jesus Name, Amen.
