Hope That Holds
From Today’s One Year Bible Reading Plan at BibleInAYearOnline.com
Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. For them the second death holds no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him a thousand years. - Revelation 20:6
The God kind of hope keeps us grounded. It’s the kind of hope that does not shift with circumstances. The kind of hope that holds steady even when things around us do not make sense. As we approach the end of the year, it is the perfect time to be reminded that our future is secure in Jesus.
Revelation 20 gives a glimpse into what is still to come. It is a chapter filled with power, justice, and promise. And right in the middle of it is a simple yet life-changing truth. Those who belong to Jesus will reign with Him. The second death has no power over them. That means fear has no final say. Death has no lasting sting. Our future is not uncertain. It is secure.
Psalm 148 joins in by calling all of creation to praise the Lord. The sun, moon, skies, and even stormy winds obey His command. That same God holds you in His hands. The God who set the stars in place is also the One who gave His Son to make sure you could stand in victory with Him.
Zechariah speaks of the Lord as King over all the earth. One day, every nation will acknowledge His rule. But today, you can choose to trust Him right where you are. You can choose to rest in the hope He gives and the victory He has already secured.
Reflection Question: How does knowing your future is secure in Christ influence the way you approach the days ahead?
Prayer: Lord, thank You for the hope You have given me in Jesus. Thank You that my future is secure, and my life is in Your hands. Help me to live each day with that confidence and to share that hope with others. Fill me with Your peace and remind me of Your victory today and always. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
