Hidden But Not Forgotten

From Today’s One Year Bible Reading Plan at BibleInAYearOnline.com

For, at just the right time, Christ will be revealed from heaven by the blessed and only almighty God, the King of all kings and Lord of all lords. - 1 Timothy 6:15 (NLT)

There is something both comforting and frustrating about those words, just the right time. We know God is never late, but waiting can still feel like the hardest part of faith.

In 2 Kings 11, young Joash was hidden away for seven years. Tucked inside a room in the Temple, protected from danger, and completely out of sight. I imagine it must have felt confusing. Days turned into years. No light. No activity. No sign that things were ever going to change. But God was working a plan. At just the right time, He brought Joash out, not just for freedom, but for purpose.

I think of that when I reflect on my own story. After walking through a divorce, I held on to hope that God had someone just right for me. I wasn’t looking for just anyone. I was waiting for the one He had prepared. Her name is Jen, and she is more than I ever imagined. But the amazing part is how God kept her hidden. She had wondered if something was wrong with her. Why she was still single at 37. But God was not punishing her. He was preserving her. I will never forget the moment I sat in her large church in a large city filled with good people, and plenty of eligible young men, and realized that even in that crowd, God had kept her hidden just for me. That moment humbled me deeply.

You may feel tucked away, unseen, even forgotten. But God has not lost track of you. He is holding you for the right time, the right place, and the right purpose.

Reflection Question: Where in your life do you feel hidden, and how might God be using that time to prepare you for something greater?

Prayer: Father, thank You that even when I feel hidden, I am never forgotten. Help me to trust Your timing and rest in Your plan. Strengthen my heart to believe that You are preparing something good for me. Let me be found in Your will at just the right time. In Jesus name, Amen.
