Her First True Love
Todayâs key verse is taken from the daily Bible reading plan at BibleInAYearOnline.com
But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life. - John 4:14 (NLT)
She was known around town, not for her strengths, but for her story. Five husbands, one live-in boyfriend, and a reputation that made her walk to the well in the heat of the day just to avoid the stares and whispers. But one afternoon, everything changed when she met a Man who saw it all and still offered her love.
Jesus met her right where she was, with no shame or condemnation, just truth, grace, and an invitation to drink from a better well. He told her plainly: âYouâve been thirsty for love, for belonging, for peace, and Iâm the only One who can truly satisfy that longing.â
That moment wasnât just about water. It was about her heart. She had been trying to fill a soul-deep thirst with broken relationships, and Jesus gently pointed her toward the real answer: Himself.
And the best part? She believed Him. She didnât clean herself up first or try to get everything in order, she just received the gift. She ran back into town with joy and purpose, no longer hiding in shame but overflowing with the living water Jesus had poured into her life.
That same offer is for you and me. We donât have to perform, fix ourselves, or pretend. Jesus already knows it all, and still, He loves us more than we can imagine. Every day, we can come to Him and receive a fresh dose of mercy, grace, and love that heals, restores, and fills.
Reflection Question: Are you drinking from the well of Jesusâ love, or are you trying to quench your thirst elsewhere? What would it look like to receive His love fully today?
Prayer: Jesus, thank You for meeting us with grace instead of judgment. Thank You that You know every part of our story and still invite us closer. We receive Your love today, unfiltered, undeserved, and unconditional. Fill every dry place in our hearts and let Your living water overflow into every part of our lives. In Jesus Name, Amen.
